Amcor announced an additional strategic investment of up to $45 million in ePac Flexible Packaging. The investment will increase Amcor’s minority stake in ePac Holdings LLC.

Amcor’s Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development, Ian Wilson, commented, “This additional investment reflects our confidence in ePac’s entrepreneurial team and its proven ability to scale quickly in the high-growth and often with greater added value in the short term. Since our initial investment last year, we have been deeply impressed with ePac’s focused and innovative business model, centered on deploying a very high level of digitization and personalization. ePac’s proven digital technologies help deliver exceptional service levels and dramatically reduced delivery times. These specializations are designed to meet the unique speed-to-market and service needs of small and medium local customers, skill sets that are highly transferable to Amcor’s core business areas.

“We believe this investment complements Amcor’s existing digital businesses and aligns well with our vision that packaging will continue to become more personalized and connected, as well as more sustainable,” continued Wilson. “This partnership is a great example of our focus on partnering with visionary, high-growth companies that offer Amcor the opportunity to leverage new innovations and value propositions while generating strong returns for Amcor shareholders. We are excited to extend our relationship with a very successful startup and continue to support ePac’s future growth ambitions.

Founded in 2016, ePac has a rapidly growing global footprint and is focused on digital printing technologies to meet the short-term needs of small customers in the consumer goods industry. Annual revenue has increased over 600% over the past three years to a pace of over $200 million. ePac operates 25 locations worldwide, all with identical setup, providing customers with automated quotes, digital printing capabilities and exceptional service times for a number of product specifications.
